Reflective questions to ask yourself8/4/2023 ![]() Prioritizing breaks is an easy way to improve your productivity and health.ĥ. Yet we often find ourselves sitting endlessly in front of the screen. As in all areas of your life, you need to moderate the amount of time you sit at the computer. Studies and research show that taking breaks is a simple and easy way to stay refreshed and avoid burnout. Most people do not take enough breaks throughout the day. Did I take enough breaks today? If not, why wasn’t I able to? You’ll be able to get more done in less time. Understanding what distracts you and removing those distractions from your day will greatly improve your productivity. Every distraction and interruption reduces our ability to focus and our efficiency. What is something that distracted me or slowed my progress today?Īttention is a finite resource. Prioritizing the right tasks is as important as execution. Our time and attention are limited resources. However, we rarely ask whether those were the right tasks to be working in the first place. We often review what tasks we crossed off the to-do list each day. Did I work on the most important tasks today? If not, what led me off track? It’s to understand how you can improve the next time. The goal of self reflection is not to punish yourself. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you didn’t. Review your to-do list and see if you accomplished what you wanted to. This is a key question to ask yourself everyday. Did I accomplish what I wanted to? If not, what stopped me? Across the spectrum of jobs, self reflection leads to improved mental health, personal growth, and increased performance. Therapists who self reflected were able to more deeply empathize with their patients. Students who self reflected performed better in school. Tennis players who self reflected felt less stressed and performed better. Self reflection has been found to reduce stress, depression, and anxiety. This is especially important during difficult times like many of us experienced with COVID in the last year. When it comes to productivity, self-reflection ensures you’re being conscious about how you’re spending your time. What is important to you? What are you passionate about? What makes you happy? Self-reflection is not about being your “best self” it’s about asking yourself what future self you want to become. Asking yourself reflective questions improves self-awareness and makes sure you’re living the life you want to live. Self-reflection is a core component of self-care. Why self reflection is important for productivityīefore diving into the self reflection questions, it’s important to highlight the benefits of self-reflection. You don’t have to ask all of these questions everyday but cycling through them over the course of a month will help you discover areas for self-growth, personally and professionally. ![]() ![]() I’ve put together the following list of self reflection questions you can ask yourself daily. It’s the only way to ensure you’re growing into the future self you wish to become. Taking time to self-reflect daily will help improve your mindfulness, productivity, and happiness. ![]() As with most habits, you need to practice it daily in order to reap the benefits. Self reflection is a critical habit to build for personal growth and continuous self-improvement. From the quiet reflection, will come even more effective action.” - Peter Drucker Introduction “Follow effective action with quiet reflection. Reflector light bulb types8/3/2023 ![]() The projector headlight also has a component called a solenoid. This way, all light output goes down and out towards the road surface. In order to fix this, projector headlights use a piece called a cutoff shield to keep light from shooting up and towards drivers. A real downside to such high brightness from a projector headlight’s output is that it might blind the oncoming traffic. Otherwise, like a reflector headlight, the light output would fade away from the center. This lens, known as a condenser lens, increases the brightness and makes better use of it. Projector headlights have an added lens that works as a magnifying glass to increase the light beam’s brightness. They contain a headlight bulb inside of a cup with mirrors that reflect off those surfaces. Also, using a simple, efficient design, projector headlights are similar to their reflector counterparts. The best option is by far the projector headlights. ![]() You’re going to want to have a safe driving experience and excellent vision in the dark. With LED headlight bulb prices dropping by the day, it’s no wonder people are rushing to upgrade to LED headlights using their factory reflector headlights. Although directional and may require some play on your install, you’ll find that you can get a consistent light beam that covers the full spectrum of light, thus illuminating your driving experience. An effective way to upgrade in the case of a reflector headlight is to use an LED headlight bulb. The beam on a reflector headlight often will have weak spots or intense spots depending on your bulb and design.

House flipper sauna8/3/2023 ![]() The emails returned to relative normality after that. The colours he wanted were awful, by the way. I am just here to do a job, I rationalised. If the man making the request hated the place so much that he was willing to pay me to repaint multiple rooms of a house he did not own, why not move out and find his own place? The dilemma the job presented made me agonise over it for a full ten minutes before finally deciding to do it. I knew that, morally, this was a job I shouldn’t take. I could see the AITA Reddit post already: “I painted my cousin’s house while she was at an art show, AITA?” The thread would be filled to bursting with YTA (You’re The Arsehole) verdicts. The home belongs to the absent cousin who has no idea their place is about to change colour. A man offers a job, wanting to get his house painted while his cousin is at an art show. He requests that both his girls rooms are painted their favourite colours and for the job to be completed quickly, as living in his current home pains him.Īnd then there are the monsters. He wrote in his email that he couldn’t stand to be in a house full of memories, so he’s purchased a new one. This level also serves as the game’s introduction to cockroaches, so take that on advisement if bugs freak you out (you can switch them off in the options menu if they do).Īnother sad job came from a man whose wife had died. Considering the number of wine bottles, they probably could have afforded rent and then some. I found myself feeling quite sorry for this poor person who just wanted to make a little extra money in retirement and got screwed over by rowdy uni bros. They also found the tenants lying on the kitchen floor in a drunken stupor. When the owner entered the property, they found the place was filthy. Unfortunately, the students stopped paying rent. If I were her, I would be moving rather than bothering to fix it.Īnother potential lead explains that they rented their house to a group of college students. ![]() She’d like you to clean the place up and replace the radiator. The first email is from a woman whose ex-boyfriend sold her radiator and trashed the house. While most of them are fairly normal, some of these emails are heart-wrenching, and several more are downright awful. ![]() Because of this, most players end up skimming the emails or not reading them at all. They’re mostly fluff because the game presents the player with a list of tasks, and the percentage completed, once they are on-site. Most of the time, these emails are quite direct, with little more than a paragraph on the work to be completed. At first, these jobs are fairly innocuous. Jobs come in via emails on your personal computer. So, players must pick up odd jobs to earn a crust. This presents a problem: before you can flip a house, you must be able to purchase one with cold hard cash. It makes bothersome chores entertaining the slow transformation from rundown ramshackle ruin to something stylish is immensely satisfying. The premise is simple: Buy a house, do it up, and sell it for a small profit. Fireside dining deer valley resort8/3/2023 ![]() This caused the small city to boom, and it’s been on an uphill trajectory ever since. Park City started to gain notoriety following the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002. ![]() What makes Park City unique, besides having easy access to three ski resort base lodges all within a quick walk or bus ride from downtown, is the quaint downtown, solid apres scene and a great selection restaurant. Not only does it boast one of the largest resorts in North America with Park City Mountain Resort, you also have easy access to Deer Valley, the Uintas, and the well known resorts in the Salt Lake City area on the other side of the Wasatch Mountains (Snowbird, Alta, Brighton and Solitude). Squatters (a little outside Main Street great food but always packed so go early) Main Street Pizza and Noodle (on Main Street) Grappa (super romantic – I recommend getting a sitter if you have the kiddos with you but all the Park City restaurants will work with kids)ĭavanza’s (Andrew’s favorite pizza spot – get the bbq chicken right in town) Regis Bar (adults only) or Mountain Terrace (great ski in/ski out option and apres too)īrass Tag Best “Nicer” Restaurants for Dinner Harvest (on Main Street or at Park City Mountain)Īpex at Montage (for a fancier breakfast or lunch)ĭaly’s Pub and Rec (the best for kids it’s right on the mountain and they have bowling and arcade games, making it one of my favorite things to do in Park City with kids)ĭeer Valley Resort (any of the restaurants are great and perfect for breakfast or lunch pre/post skiing the turkey chili and blueberry mojitos are a must-have) The Caledonian (if you want to stay right on Main Street in town there’s a town lift that takes you to Park City so it works if you want to ski too) Best Breakfast and Lunch Spots Rent a House on Deer Valley Mountain (I prefer skiing Deer Valley and they have tons of great rentals you can book that are great for families only downside is that the hotel/condo rentals offer more full service, from rides to ski valet that you don’t necessarily get with a house) The Lodge at the Mountain Village (if you’re looking for ski in/ski out at Park City Mountain that’s family-friendly and more affordable especially at peak times can’t beat the convenience) Regis (I would stay here if you’re traveling without the kiddos) Lodges at Deer Valley (great for families – perfect compromise of a home and hotel) I seriously couldn’t recommend Park City enough, whether you’re getting away as a couple or as a family, heading there during the ski season or the summertime or fall. I included tons of things to do in Park City with kids, since that was my most frequent question in addition to requests for where to eat with kids, where to ski, and where to stay. Park City is truly a magical spot, and I’m so excited to finally put together my Park City guide to share with those of you who are considering or planning to check it out. Really the only time of year I’d recommend avoiding the area is late spring when the ski mountains close and it’s slushy and a bit dreary. We also love the area in the summertime, when it’s beautiful and there are so many fun outdoor activities. Christmas is one of my favorite times to go to Park City because it’s a magical wonderland and such a special spot to celebrate the holidays, but before kids, we also loved to go out in late March for spring skiing when the powder never stops and it’s warm and sunny in the afternoons. We also got engaged on Deer Valley mountain and married at Sundance Resort, which is just outside of Park City, so we have lots of good Park City (and beyond) recommendations, from restaurants to shopping to activities. But Andrew and I came to know the area inside and out after living out there for a year in our early 20s. My husband’s family has been going out there for over 30 years, so we’re very familiar with the area. We go to Park City every year for Christmas with my husband’s family. well, ask and you shall receive and it seems a lot of you are going to my favorite winter (and honestly, summer and fall) destination with your kiddos. I included all the things to do in Park City with kids because…. Ever since our annual Christmas vacation in Park City, Utah, I’ve gotten so many requests for Park City recommendations and info on the area, so I thought I’d put together a blog post. Beyond good and evil 2 modes8/3/2023 Today, Nietzsche tends to be thought of as a depressive nihilist, a man who believed in nothing, and an apologist for the atrocities of fascism-but no description could be further from the truth. I can think of few instances where an author's reputation is more different from the reality of who he was, what he believed, and what he wrote-perhaps only Machiavelli has been as profoundly misunderstood by history. "One of the greatest books of a very great thinker." -Michael Tanner If you enjoyed Beyond Good and Evil you might like Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra, also available in Penguin Classics. Lawrence, Thomas Mann and Jean-Paul Sartre, was considerable. A powerfully original thinker, Nietzsche's influence on subsequent writers, such as George Bernard Shaw, D.H. He divorced himself from society until his final collapse in 1899 when he became insane. This edition includes a commentary on the text by the translator and Michael Tanner's introduction, which explains some of the more abstract passages in Beyond Good and Evil.įrederich Nietzsche (1844-1900) became the chair of classical philology at Basel University at the age of 24 until his bad health forced him to retire in 1879. With wit and energy, he turns from this critique to a philosophy that celebrates the present and demands that the individual imposes their own 'will to power' upon the world. Nietzsche demonstrates that the Christian world is steeped in a false piety and infected with a 'slave morality'. The work dramatically rejects the tradition of Western thought with its notions of truth and God, good and evil. Hollingdale with an introduction by Michael Tanner in Penguin Classics.īeyond Good and Evil confirmed Nietzsche's position as the towering European philosopher of his age. ![]() So Beyond Good and Evil 2 is probably going to launch in 2028.Friedrich Nietzsche's Beyond Good and Evil is translated from the German by R.J. “We want to blur the lines between developers and passionate people.” “At some point they could be considered part of the developers,” says Ancel. Ubisoft Montpellier admits that most studios wouldn’t show off their game at this stage, but - oh no - they want to develop it in tandem with the community. The main take away is that this is still super early days. “I’m throwing out ideas and basically nourishing the team and Michel with as many possibilities as we can until, with the artists that we’ve been working very closely with to create the characterisations, this all comes together.” Narrative director Gabrielle Shrager is currently in writing mode, but it sounds like nothing it set in stone. “We decided we were going to make a space-pirate game,” says senior producer Guillaume Brunier, “so everything that a pirate is doing in the mythology of pirates, you put space in front of it, and we do it in the game.” ![]() Since revealing the game at E3, the team’s been trying to reinforce its motivations and double down on the pirate conceit, from officers, crews and their relationships, to how the ships look and function. And it doesn’t require total surveillance either.įor example, our parental control application, Kaspersky Safe Kids, has a geofencing feature called Location monitoring. ![]() These days, it is not difficult to keep abreast of your child’s whereabouts without interfering in their lives. Experts note that excessive nannying can harm a child’s self-esteem and reputation among peers, not to mention that an overprotected child may have trouble becoming an independent adult.įortunately, the modern world has equally modern solutions to this problem. Restricting freedom is rarely the best solution, and it certainly won’t achieve perfect security online or off. Some parents, fearing for their children’s safety, prohibit them from hanging out with friends and walk them to school until they’re just about ready to leave the nest. And that’s just in an average week! How to keep track of your kid with geofencing Left to their own devices, children can come into contact with bad people, poke around hazardous industrial sites, or get lost in an unfamiliar area. For example, you might not even know for sure whether your bundle of joy is attending class.Įven if that box is checked, you still have lots of other big-city dangers (which intersect plenty with small-town hazards) to worry about. Kids can go from the playpen to the schoolyard in the blink of an eye, and with every inch of freedom they earn, keeping tabs on their movements becomes harder.
